Getting Started
Set up your company, invite your team and understand how WorkSkedge is organized.
What WorkSkedge is and how the pieces fit together
WorkSkedge is field operations software for trades and construction. Customers hold projects, projects hold work orders, work orders hold the schedule, the field reports, the timesheets and the money. Everything downstream depends on that chain.
Signing in, invitations and user accounts
You get access to WorkSkedge by being invited. An administrator or manager creates your employee record and assigns roles, the system emails an invitation, and you set a password when you accept. Your login is then permanently linked to that employee record.
Set up your company: the first five steps
WorkSkedge setup is dependency-ordered, not preference-ordered. Do the five Core Foundation steps first — company profile, project status mode, completion report requirements, custom fields and scheduling notifications — before adding any operational data.
Add your crew and assign roles
No employees means no scheduling, no dispatch and no timesheets. Add real crew members with contact details, skills and certifications, then assign each person one or more of the ten WorkSkedge roles — permissions are the union of every role they hold.
Your first project, work order and scheduled job
This is the moment the whole chain comes online. Create a customer, then a project, then a work order under it, then place that work order on the scheduling board. Everything downstream — reports, timesheets, purchase orders, invoices — depends on those four records existing.
Find your way around WorkSkedge
The left sidebar groups everything by function — Projects & Scheduling, Tracking, Resources, Finances, Timesheets, Apps and Settings — and the Settings hub splits into Business, Workflow, Team & Access and Advanced. What you see depends on your roles and on which features your plan includes.
