Equipment & Assets
Track tools and equipment, custody and the equipment ledger.
How does equipment tracking work in WorkSkedge?
Equipment in WorkSkedge has two halves: Price Book equipment resources hold the billing rate, and the Equipment Ledger holds the physical assets, checkouts, meter readings and service records.
How do I add an equipment rate to the Price Book?
Open the Price Book, choose New Resource, set the Type to Equipment, then fill in the unit of measure, base cost and either a flat resale price or a margin.
How do I link a physical asset to an equipment rate?
Open the equipment resource in the Product Detail Drawer, click Link Asset, pick the machines and confirm. Linked assets appear under Registered Assets and can be unlinked at any time.
How do I check equipment out to a work order and bill the usage?
Check the asset out to the work order, capture the meter reading, then check it in with a closing reading. With auto-billing on and the asset linked to a rate, the check-in creates the usage record for you.
How does WorkSkedge track equipment hours and odometer readings?
Each asset has a tracking mode — hours, km, miles, a custom unit, or none. Readings can be posted at any time, and the difference between checkout and check-in readings is what gets billed.
How do safety, maintenance and repair records work for equipment?
Every asset keeps a ledger of service records — safety, maintenance or repair — each with a pass, fail or needs-repair result. A record can lock the asset so it cannot be checked out until the issue is cleared.
